Junior & Young Writers: Week 5 - Play on Words Pt. 2

This week we focused on building the order of performance and exploring transitions and delivery.

Weekly check in: describe your week as a type of suitcase

Evan- normal suitcase… made of cake!

Hamish- activity suitcase, packed with tennis rackets

Daisy- old suitcase, falling apart

Warm up’s

Sound & Movement Wave

Stand in a circle. One person makes a sound and movement.

The next person repeats and adds on, building a chain.

Continue until it loops around.

This was an interesting warm up as it also challenged our memories!

Next up was tongue twisters and Frankie added a challenge of saying them out different volumes

We read these tongue twisters:

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Betty Botter bought some butter.

If a dog chews shoes, whose shoes does he choose?

Eleven benevolent elephants

Our writing exercise was a picture prompt of two girls in an enchanted wood, underneath a tree with glowing leaves- Elsie wrote about the girls having no memory of who they are, and a sense that they are being followed…

Next as a group shared what we were planning on performing at the showcase and made sure to give constructive and kind feedback.
