Stories From Our Streets: Our Final Event for the Year at Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival

In September 2023, one whole year on from our very first event ever, the Stories From Our

Streets Project was back in central Bournemouth at the South Coast Makers Market as part of

the vibrant Arts by the Sea Festival.

A huge thank you to everyone who came by The Memory Bus to share your BCP memories and

moments and all that you love about the people and places in our home region!

We had visitors from five years old to older adults who had lived in, or been visiting the area, for

forty years or more. Outdoor spaces such as Hengistbury Head featured highly on your list of

special places, as well as Sandbanks for barbecues and windsurfing and family times.

It was great to return to the same spot where this project began last year and to reflect upon all the

conversations and creativity and connections we have shared together since then!

We were thrilled to be part of the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival weekend, too. It really

was a vibrant celebration of culture, community and art in all forms.

Thank you to the team at the Night Markets for hosting us, and to our brilliant volunteers and

writers Issy and Helen who joined us for the event. Lastly, a huge thank you to every single one

of you who popped by to read, write, chat and share your stories with us!
