Haikus

We are writing Haikus today. A Haiku is a Japanese poetry form and the format is this

Line 1 - 3 syllables

Line 2 - 7 syllables

Line 3 - 3 syllables

Have a look at these haikus written by the Junior Writers' Club members:

3 Haikus by Rudraa Gokal:

The calm waterfall

Was looking nice in the light

OMG so cool

The mountain is vast

It reaches high to the sky

There’s snow on the peak

Look at the green trees

They are an emerald scene

They look so pretty

So bright yellow

2 Haikus by Arsh Agrawal

The Sun

The Sun in the sky

Sunshine everywhere around

It is really hot

The River

Flowing calm around

Connecting to large ocean

Its colour is cyan
