WIZARD CLAN

WIZARD WRITERS

This week both the Junior Writers and the Young Writers received a letter from the Elder Wizard inviting them to the Wizard Realm.

I thought for this session I'd create an interactive writing game for all 3 groups. It had a very loose plot to be embellished in a different way by each group and would have writing tasks to complete throughout in order to unlock each part of the plot.

Around the space I hid 6 candles with letters informing the writers of their tasks attached. Once they completed the task and shared back they'd be given more tasks and choices until they finally were forced to side with The Evil Elder Wizard or The 6 Candles (a rival wizard clan).

Here are some of their letters:

After reading the letters and going through the portal to the Realm the writers were met by The 6 Candles ( and The 6 Candles, 6 candles hidden around the room with tasks attached) a rival Wizard Clan working against the Elder Wizard who they believed to be secretly EVIL!

The writers were tasked with writing investigative questions to ask the elder wizard and expose his true self. After writing their questions we did a hot seating exercise to answer the questions with help from Ri who was the Elder Wizard’s cat.

After creating some theories as to what the wizard was up to The 6 Candles asked the writing wizards to read the wizards secret plan.

With the plan exposed (a pyramid scheme enlisting young writing wizards to create products to poison humans) the writers had one final very important task…to either

  1. Side with the 6 Candles and design a way to stop The Elder Wizard using their writing skills (wanted posters, spell poems etc…)

  2. Side with the Elder Wizard and design and pitch a poisoned product

Here are the results
