Exploring this wonderful World

As the seasons change, the leaves turning yellow, orange and red, we focus our thoughts on our wonderful world. The Junior Writers' Club are hoping to submit poems to the East Riding Festival of Words Young Writers competition. But before we write our poems, we've been discussing what makes us happy, exploring our senses and writing descriptive paragraphs from picture prompts.

Here are some descriptive sentences written by Stuti:

I felt the warm , hot sun target my eyes and the

green grass felt brighter than ever. In the distance, I

could see an Island. I heard the sweet distinctive

sounds of the birds squaking and the water rushing

loudly as it could .

I ran with my friends bare feet , forgetting my flip

flops, in the muddy streets of India. I met Raju

uncle, the sweet shop owner, on the way back to

getting my flip flops when I stopped for darshan

(praying) at the Saraswati temple. As, I was walking

back down the steps of a Saraswati temple, I heard

a loud crying voice of a baby girl. I instinctively ran

back to the garden.

I clearly remember me and my brother sewing this

hoody after Rowdy my dog got lost to make him the

unique dog . But now my brother's gone to

university and I can't sew with him anymore and he

hasn't sent any whatsup messages since 2021 or

any letters or photos of him. So, now I don't know

what to do.

I'll share more later, but can't share the poems as they need to be unpublished in order to be submitted for the competition. Wish us luck!
