All that I want from this day

All that I want from this day is what I have now: the warmth found in thoughts and words and company shared, and the acceptance of things as they are. If, on this day, the sun does not brighten the sky, or my room, or my mood, I can recall the memory of it while I enjoy the movement of the rain. If I cannot find those words I expected to write, I can hold on to these instead, loosely, let them turn themselves over in my mind, allow them room to grow. All that I want from this day is to think, and to learn, and to breathe.
