Weather Poems

With Storm Ciaran creating some drama throughout the week, we talked about weather patterns and how the changing weather is affecting us all.

We wrote acrostic poems about the weather such as:

Shree’s Acrostic Poem

Well...

Everything was closed for the day

All schools and shops were kept at bay

Trying to find things to do

Halloween candy eaten too

Everyone locked inside together

Rain pours down more than ever

- Shree

I looked out the window in absolute fear

To see what it had done the damage was clear

The huge gusts of wind were there no more

But there were unrepairable ruins, that was for sure

I had been hiding, huddled, hoping it would pass

But it wasn’t worth the wait, the house, the broken cars

In the middle of summer, it had somehow occurred

A total disaster, destroying my world

-Shree

We also wrote poems about our favourite hobbies:

Sliding across the cold , smooth floor
Killing fear that once controlled me
A once timid child, fear ruling on
There was an empire, shy subjects letting fear control them
In a tall, overshadowing castle
Now the shy subjects are brave soldiers
Laughing and joking in dangerous moments...
-Advaya
