Autumn Term WEEK 3- OBJECTS

Hello Junior writers!

We started with observing some small objects brought in by Millie.

We wrote down words that reminded us of those objects, and passed it around the room.

The more words added to the list, the harder it became. We were forced to get imaginative!

Then the objects became our story, some transporting our characters and others slowly to be revealed..

We ended with a different energising game, evolution rock, paper, scissors !

The stages are:

Ameba

Fish

Chicken

Dinosaur

Super hero

And then, as requested by you lot, a worm.

Next week there will be a new addition!

Hello young writers!

We started with observing some small objects.

We thought of words that reminded us of those objects, and passed it around the room.

The more words added to the list, the harder it became. We were forced to get imaginative! We had:

‘Creepy Carousels’

‘Pritt stick like’

And-

‘Went in the river probably’

This group love a bit of comedy!

We were introduced to the term ‘Kennings’, meaning an alternative way we describe something, relating to a function. Like ‘shiny stone’ as a ‘light catcher’

We then were read an extract ‘The Girl’ by Jon Klassen which became a prompt for the next stage of the stories we wrote. We added in some spooky prompts to further the plot.

After sharing, we ended with an exercise game, drawing blindly the anatomy of a group character, creating alongside a character profile.

As we were running out of time, myself and Millie felt evil enough to reveal it next week, haha! The suspense !
