Teletubbys and Poetry

We started off with a communal poem. Somewhat abstract - but not lacking pazazz, this is the poem we came up with.

Junior Writers Poem:

Hi cheese puff

I like you

OH!

You

Are SO

Delicious

Said Bob,

And I am

Your Courgette

Murderer

Goodbye forever

Evil-mastermind

I don’t like you

Courgette murderer

Said the courgette murderer

Tomato slingshot

Micheal jackson

I will steal the

Most expensive

Murder gadget

Of the

Blackmarket

Suddenly there

Was a swatted fly

Doing moonwalking

Whilst a

Police officer

Broke the

Laws of gravity

I don’t know

Milo can take

All kinds of

Mysterious seashells on

Resurrected swatted fly

That’s singing billie-jean

I don’t know but I think,

You know more

About being evil

Then Ali got everyone to stand on a piece of paper. She makes them close their eyes. She put a bear in the centre of the room - the teddy is ‘PO’ from the Teletubbies.

They open the paper they are stood on; it reveals a character. The characters included: Dogs, poets, toddlers, babies etc.

The prompt was to write about finding Po in a room from your character's perspective

Siya: dog

I ran into the room to find a deranged chicken. I lose control. A creepy dog obb-gob and all the other deranged chickens came in evil.

Sophie: child

A terrifying human thing in the middle of the room. Singing ‘you shall die tonight’ it started walking.

Phoebe: child

I found my favourite toy in the room - it started screaming ahh! I ran out of the room screaming like a Teletubbuy.

Milo:

Slowly entered the room - demon on the floor - left the room. I gnawed the demon to death

We then changed the perspective of our stories from our characters to Po.

Different perspective:

Different perspective:

These stories were scary, and saw Po facing all kinds of issues.

Writers of the week were
