Lights, Camera, Action!

Unfortunately Ali was absent today so Alicia Sparkelstein, her doppelganger from the LA studios, had to fill in. She got our writers to create a movie! Their brief had to include an elevator pitch, the outline, and actors they wanted to work with. Partway through, however, she surprised our group with a twist: the studio wanted to input some ideas, so everyone had to dip their hand into the mystery box and draw two extra elements they needed to throw into their movie.

We had our writers pitch us women losing their minds and gaining superpowers at the end of the world, men travelling back in time to save mankind from women only to find that they’re the problem, and teens stuck in a cave which mysteriously lost its entrances. We also had a film about British colonisers starring Liz Truss, which was an incredible pull.

Alicia then got our writers to pen a scene from their movie. Everyone did fantastic work and our writer of the week was Mia, whose scene had excellent dialogue and evocative descriptions (included below!)
