Rhyme Slime Time

Ali’s back, and today, it’s all about arguing! As an introduction Ali read to us from her book Rhyme Slime, about a girl who has contracted a rhyming disease from pond goo. Then she laid down a sick beat and the two of us read out our own argumentative poem - a sort of rap! Our poets paired off and wrote their own rows.

We began with:

  • A tiff over a dragon burning everything down after it wasn’t fed

  • Someone being irritated at another’s chewing

  • An attempt to find out who a werewolf was amongst a trio (ending with rhyming “awoooooo!”)

Then everyone switched up their pairs, and we got even more!

  • A spat over a repurposed jumper (destroyed by a frenchie)

  • One person snitching on the other, but coming to an amicable conclusion

  • Someone getting their peer in trouble at school

And of course, the rap from our writers of the week: Issy & Katie writing about a bag dog sitter who’d smothered their charge to death with a flannel.

To finish, we played a round of consequences whilst prep was done for the weekend’s community showcase - we hope to see you there!
