Backstory Sound Effects

Our fill-in fun was very seasonal today! Pumpkin patch capers included:

  • A melancholy pumpkin who was not paid enough to lie in its patch

  • Well trained wolves who “stopped being well trained, which did not go well”

  • The Donald-Trumpification of pumpkins, resulting in a trumpkin

We then ventured deeper into our audioplay odyssey. A script penned by Ali was performed where a character’s backstory was told along with audio cues, and our writers had to create a similar piece themselves. When we read them out, Ali suggested our listeners could write down any sound effects which might help.

We had such weird and wonderful tales as:

  • Not having enough biscuits during an alien encounter

  • A mum tweeting a picture of her child which went viral due to her pyjama choice

  • A girl being peer-pressured into kicking a hornet’s nest

And our writer of the week was Florence for her court-based scene and the unlucky story of a defendant named Sue Mee.
