Autumn Term WEEK 2- TINY JOURNEYS
JUNIOR WRITERS! Or should I say, rummagers of the bin!
We started with our word of the week and began to pick our brains at writing a short extract.
Millie introduced us to the world under our feet, the challenge of finding objects in the room that are smaller than the size of our palm.
Some top finds were:
~ Bobby hair pin ~apple
~ light switch ~ head of spoon
We got as small as a fingernail, things got a bit interesting..
~ blue tick mark ~ carpet stain
~ dead bug
We mapped out our world, and then began to write our journey as if we are as small as the thing, using them as objects on our journey.
William wrote about Binky absailing on spider silk. Then we had Juno’s Tiny Timmy, whose fave food is a crumb of cheese, and their only hobby is trying to grow. (You’ll get there Timmy!)
YOUNG WRITERS
Yet again, it’s long words! This group love a long word, so much so they had to wear it on their y-shirts.. I missed the memo Eddy!
We sprung ideas around about our world.. there seems to be a lot of universe related voids in this group, did we try and zoom in so small that we had to go the furthest out?
~atoms that were being engulfed by teachers
~ stationary obstacle courses
Buzzy bees break involved coming up with some interesting worlds to play with. The zero boring failures rule was invented!
Wrapping up- some recurring characters were in discussion, as well as what we want to see come up in the themes of our sessions.
