Scrabble Killer
Ali brought in another box of wonder this session and, after we had a bit of a fight with the box to get it open, it was revealed to be a travel Scrabble! There was not too much pressure on our writers, though, as we were not playing the game in the traditional sense. Instead, after seven tiles were pulled, Ali gave them a challenge to create a story about a serial killer with just the letters in front of them:
Create the killer’s name
A keyword involved in the method of the murder
A keyword in the message taunting the police
The fate of the killer
(Luckily our writers drew tiles back up to seven at the end of each prompt, so they were not left with a dwindling pool of letters each time!)
A picture has been added to the blog of what everyone came up with, and then Ali got them to write a scene with the words they had chosen. Some focussed on the killer themselves while others wrote about the detective coming after them; either way it was wonderfully atmospheric!
