Ali welcomed everyone back by getting our writers to list all the cringeworthy “inspirational quotes” they could think of, and then see if they could concoct any of their own (see results below!)
Then it was back to our radio play! Ali had started the framework and got our writers to fill in the bulk of the script. She’ll refine what they were working on for further workshopping next week, but our writers did very well in their round-table setting up of the scene. A particular highlight was naming the therapists Dr Well and Bea, and their practice therefore being called “Be Well Therapy”.
To close us out for the last few minutes, we went back to our “inspirational quotes” and Ali asked our writers for a short story with one of them as the first line. We had people wishing they were anywhere but hanging upside down from the ceiling of a warehouse, and finding out kindness DID cost something when they sold their soul to the devil… but our writer of the week was Chloe for her story about someone without a mouth growing frustrated with an unfunny comedian making jokes about their predicament.
