Junior and Young Writers: Week 6 - SHOWCASE DAY!

Showcase day!

The morning was full of excitement as we warmed up and rehearsed for our showcase.

We started by talking about our weeks, as a ‘trick or treat’, there were a lot of scary weeks, some boring, and some downright odd…

We warmed up with a few different games, the crowd favourite being food-themed charades, and Eddie managed to turn into a pizza. Daisy was a less successful Mango (charades is much harder than I remembered it being!)

For our show, the younger group had individual pieces, and the older group had a set work they’d created together, all about ‘Cake Cult’.

Once we’d fully warmed up, we were ready to steal the show!

We started with the younger groups' individual pieces:

Elsie - Tale of a young girl trapped in a forest of light

Juno - Poem about kindness

Evan - A Survival Guide

Indy - Story of a young girl caught in a mystery at her school

Henry, Evan, Juno and Jaxon acted out a short play of dialogue they had written together

Next up, our older group with Cake Cult!

It started off with an introduction by Eddie, who was dressed as a news presenter, he presented the news of Cake Cult, explaining a new planet had been found. Daisy presented her findings on the planet and a review of their culture and practices. Sonny did a science and weather report!

It was so lovely to see everyone on stage; they presented and spoke beautifully.

Onto the next term with lots of joy in our hearts!
