Happy Halloween!

It’s Halloween! Many of our writers came dressed up, and you can check out their costumes below.

We began with some spooky fill-in fun for the haunting season, and our writers had their characters encounter screaming moths, biblically accurate angels, and Sainsbury’s cheese twists during their terrifying escapades.

Ali dimmed the lights and got us to swap ghost stories in the gloom. Our writers had all had some unexplained encounters, and amongst the most frightening was the story of a small child running beneath the table as if to play hide and seek, only for our storyteller’s mum to check and find out there was nobody there whatsoever, as all the children were in a different room…

Some haunting music was played and Ali challenged our writers to create something emotionally terrifying. We had stories of wardens silencing their prisoners who were visited by wights, and main characters seeing their deceased neighbour after inheriting her possessions. Our writer of the week was Katie, who sent a chill down our spines with her tale of being haunted while you sleep, swearing you hear something behind the window, only to find nothing there when you pull back the curtain…

It’s half term next week to give everyone a well-deserved rest. Well done, writers, and Happy Halloween to everyone!
