ArtfulScribe is looking to appoint writer facilitators and assistants for several writing and literature projects taking place across Dorset and the Solent area from September 2025, as well as an Assistant Producer to join our team in our Southampton office through the Breakthrough traineeship scheme.
Writer Facilitators (freelance): What Women Write
Contract: Based on £125 per half day delivery for 2-3 days work.

https://artfulscribe.co.uk/img/resources/Writer%20Facilitators%202025_2025_07_18_04_42_32.pdfWhat Women Write (working title) will engage women from underrepresented communities through the lens of women’s fiction, looking at themes such as civic life, gender, women’s roles and expectations, and cultural traditions, facilitated through workshops led by writers living or working in Southampton. Responding to Jane Austen 250, women from across the city will be facilitated to express their stories and fictional writing through multi-lingual visual and/or audio media.
The Writer Facilitator will work as part of a team to encourage, inspire, and motivate women from diverse backgrounds to engage with the themes of the project through written and spoken word.
Assistant Facilitators (freelance): Various projects
Contract: Based on £16.25ph, hours vary depending on project.

The role includes welcoming and helping participants to engage with the content of the workshops, assisting with administration and collecting evaluation data, and writing up a journal of the session.
Freelance roles will need to be available for safeguarding training at Mayflower Studios, Southampton, on 6th September 2025.
Assistant Producer
Contract: 25 hours per week, £12.60 per hour, 29 Sept 2025 - March 2026.

The successful candidate will take a hands on role with assisting event planning and delivery, administration, marketing and communications.
