ArtfulScribe, in partnership with Studio Response and Winchester City Council, are appointing three experienced writers, who enjoy working collaboratively, to run workshops on a new housing development in West Waterlooville, engaging different groups of residents within the local area of West Waterlooville at different periods throughout the year.
Each writer will lead a micro project as part of Strand 2 of the delivery programme. The micro projects will run as approximately 10 workshops or sessions, taking place over 2-3 months. Each writer will be paired with an assistant facilitator.
The intention of the micro project is to delve deeper into the hyper-local nature of the development, identifying and nurturing different neighbourhood relationships through creative activities. These micro projects will connect with a Strand 1 Writer working in West Waterlooville over the course of the full year to produce a written response (under a separate brief) as well as offering mentorship support to Strand 2 writers.
These projects aim to provide residents with opportunities to creatively express their individual voices and celebrate where they live.
The writers appointed will have experience in facilitating and instigating conversations. Read the full brief here: https://bit.ly/4iCL3R7
Budget: £4225 per writer, with allocations for materials up to £275.
To apply, please provide:
• An outline of your approach to the brief, including key ideas around workshopping in relation to one or more of the identified groups, and, using the timeline as a guide, preferred project period. Timelines are open to discussion, change, condensing or extending to best suit your approach.
• A cover letter detailing why this project is a good match for you.
• Any restrictions on availability during the project period.
• A CV detailing any relevant experience.
Please ensure submissions are sent as one .pdf or Word.doc/x and addressed to matt@artfulscribe.co.uk with a subject line ‘Strand 2 Writers’ application’.
We accept written or recorded applications. Please send written applications as a single pdf, video files as an online link (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo) and audio files as MP3 files.
The deadline for this opportunity is 27th January 2025 at 23:59
