Online Schedule during COVID measures

In response to a changed cultural landscape and government advice on movement restrictions, ArtfulScribe will continue to support existing writing groups and new communities by offering a wide range of online creative writing workshops to writers of all ages and stages of development.  Commencing from Saturday 25thApril 2020, our online delivery schedule is as follows:

 

 

Monday 7-9pm:                                  Mayflower Creative Writers

                                                            (18-25 years) led by Antosh Wojcik

writing, editing and developing work for performance and publication (all genres)

Playwright, dramatist, and performance poet, Antosh has featured on Sky Arts, toured nationally and is a former winner of the Roundhouse Poetry Slam.

 

 

Wednesday 9.30-11am                       ArtfulScribe Junior Writers Club

(from 13thMay)                                   (7-11 years) led by Susmita Bhattacharya

NEW group aimed at primary school children featuring fun ways to engage and get creative with words, encouraging young people’s voices to be heard.

Susmita is an award-winning novelist whose recent book Table Mannerswon a Saboteur Award for Best Short Story Collection. Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and when not writing Susmita is mother to two girls and a cat called Karishma.

 

 

Wednesday 11.30-1pm                       ArtfulScribe Young Writers Online

(From 13th May)                                 Aimed at Secondary School and 6thForm college-aged participants, led by Tabitha Hayward featuring creative approaches to generate new work for publication, performance, and personal satisfaction (all genres)

Tabitha Hayward holds a First Class English Degree from University of Oxford and works as a script-reader for Finborough Theatre and as an English tutor. A brilliantly engaging creative practitioner. Her work has been published in Stanpoint Magazine, The Missing Slate, and The Oxford Magazine.

 

 

Thursday 11am-1pm                           SO:Write Women

Weeks 1 and 3 of each month             led by Joanna Barnard

A group tailored towards creating, sharing and celebrating women’s writing in a safe and supportive environment

Joanna Barnard won the Bath Novel Award in 2014 with Precocious and her second novel Hush Little Baby was published in 2017. Jo has worked with SO:Write Women for the past three years.

Thursday 11am-1pm                           Writing for Wellbeing

Weeks 2 and 4 of each month             led by Joanna Barnard

A qualified counsellor and award-winning novelist leads these sessions to encourage new and advanced writers to develop a toolbox of skills for creative self-expression during times of crisis

Participants in a recent pilot described the sessions as ‘validating’, ‘healing’, ‘inspiring’ and more.
