Assistant Writer/Facilitator Wanted: Writing for Performance 15-18

ArtfulScribe and Mayflower Engage are looking to appoint a versatile assistant writer/facilitator to support Writing for Performance, a weekly, term-time young writers’ offer for ages 15-18 taking place at MAST/Mayflower Studios on Tuesday evenings from 6pm-7.30pm.

The assistant will be capable of supporting sessions that encourage, inspire, motivate, and develop young writers through script-writing techniques for performance including narrative, monologues, dialogues, direction, and script-formats. The assistant will support programmes in partnership with Mayflower Engage’s Youth Theatre and Young Company and will provide administration, evaluation, and marketing support.

This is a developmental role for an emerging writer/facilitator to work as understudy to the lead writer and gain experience in supporting and leading group exercises, as well as offering encouragement and one-to-one support where needed.

As well as being a keen writer, the assistant will be energetic and dynamic, and be available to support the group at any live events in the city.

In the first instance, applicants are invited to submit an expression of interest detailing why they feel they are the right candidate for the job, An up-to-date CV detailing relevant experience is also required.

Remuneration is £25 per weekly session and also includes complementary access to certain MAST/Mayflower shows. There may be a requirement for the successful candidate to attend some evening shows at MAST/Mayflower Studios.
