This week, we were working on scripts! The young writers each came up with a character who they shared in the chat and then each picked two of the characters from the chat to have an argument – about anything they chose!
Next, everyone put a ‘dramatic incident’ in the chat – from someone coming in in a unicorn onesie, to the house collapsing! Everyone chose one dramatic incident to work into their scene…

Pedro: I don't know what to do.
Alex: What do you expect me to do?
Pedro: We have to hide this old man's body somewhere.
Alex: Shh, we could just leave it here.
Pedro: Are you crazy? The police will think that we have committed the murder. Alex: Or we can just run away.
Pedro: No, we have to report it to the police and tell them exactly what happened. Alex called 999 and told them about the situation. Within 5 minutes, they were at their location, which was near an abandoned house.
Police: You guys are under arrest, put your hands up!
Paula
Pedro: I don’t know what to do?
Younger brother: What have we done!?
[pause]
Pedro: Well, it’s been nice knowing you.
Younger brother: I don’t want to get in trouble!
Both brothers hide as their parents come in to find “headphones” drawn on the wall with permanent marker by Pedro.
Mother: What is this!!!!
Pedro: I can explain…
Mother: I’m listening…
Pedro :I can’t explain
Brother walks in with a unicorn onesie to win over the parents and it works

(Over the phone)
Ella: Why is there a house here?
Clara: What? I don’t even know where you are.
Ella: Oh yeah, I’m by our flat, or where it used to be.
Clara: I’m not sure what you mean, I only left to do the groceries a few minutes ago. Also like what do you mean there’s a house here, obviously there’s a house that’s where we live, like why would-
Ella: No, there’s a house here, but it’s not our house, it's some red-brick monstrosity.
Clara: Are you sure you’re in the right place? Half of the streets look the same as soon as you put townhouses on them.
Ella: Clara, I’ve lived here for 4 years now, I think I know my way about, don’t you?
Clara: It’s always possible, and besides, they can’t have replaced our house completely in the span of 8 minutes. Just wait where you are and once I come back you’ll realise you’re in the wrong place, I’m almost done here.
(A few minutes pass)
(Clara appears around the corner)
Clara: Ell!
Ella: Clara!
(Clara runs up to Ella)
Clara: Oh goodness, you were right.
Ella: Of course I was.
Clara: But like, how were we not told?
(They both stare in amazement and horror at the new house)
Clara: HOW DID THIS HAPPEN! I don’t even know what happened, BUT HOW!
Ella: Do you think someone’s already living there?
Clara: Maybe, I think we should knock on the door…
(Ella and Clara start walking up to the house)
(The roof of the house caves in with a loud CRASH!)
Ella and Clara: ARGHHHH!

The Shop
Set in a flower shop (Called Daisy & Daffodil) where Lily is working her Saturday shift for her family.
Clara Comes rushing in.
Lily : What on earth are you doing? You know you shouldn’t be here, you have got me in enough trouble already and this is punishment for when you covered the whole place in glow in the dark paint! You should be banned from this shop, but I just stopped that from happening!
Clara : How furious was Mrs Green?
Lily: Enough that I had to give up a week’s wages and work extra to stop her from banning you from ever seeing me again!
Clara : But we are still besties, aren’t we?
Lily: I will have to think about it. Now, pass me those daffodils that are behind you so I can make sure Miss tilly gets her order later.
Clara passes the daffodils to lily.
Clara: But we are always besties even after I graffitied the sign, ruined your mum’s flowers, climbed into your window while you were getting changed, and don’t forget the time I set your dad’s sunflowers alight.
Lily sighs.
Lily: Anyway, you didn’t answer my question earlier: What are you doing here, shouldn’t you be in your big mansion, having afternoon tea or relaxing in your big luxury swimming pool? You should go now.
Clara: Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
Suddenly, there is a crash and the roof caves in.
Lily: AHHHHH!!!
Clara: AHHHHH!!
They stand up and look around.
Lily: Clara,
Pause
Lily: Did you do that
She slowly turns towards Clara.
Clara: (Shakely) No, what was that…?
