Term 3 - Week 1 - Extending the Metaphor

Great start to the first week of a new term. A new face, and thinking about metaphor, and extended metaphors.

we read Shakespeare's sonnet 18 and talked about imagery. Whilst we were there we had a quick lesson on Sonnets as a form too!

We got started writing by thinking of some examples of metaphors, and then extending some examples I gave;

She was a tea cup

His brain was a cloud

The rain was inconsolable

Her heart was a box

After the break, our extended task was to free write about an experience, person or desire (writing about what you know) using lots of metaphors and extended metaphors!
