Next Steps for Creative Writing Against Coastal Waste

As we approach the Autumn term, the Creative Writing Against Coastal Waste project team are working towards the launch of an exciting new thread for the blog. Following some thought provoking discussions at our Lightning Talks Event, we are seeking new ways to think about and articulate the connections between different south-coast projects that are focussed on ocean literacy, coastal waste, and littoral communities. To help us towards this goal, from late-September, we will be launching a new interview series. Each week, we will publish a written interview from an individual or project team working in one of these areas – offering a space for interviewees to share their work, exciting findings and even some reading recommendations.

Our hope is that the combined value of these posts will be greater than the sum of their parts. For this reason, between interviews, we will also take time to reflect upon the connections between these different projects and to share updates about our own forthcoming workshops for creative writers.

We are really looking forward to sharing these interviews with you, and as ever, if you wanted to get in touch with us, have a question, or are working on a project you would like us to know about, please do send us an email at oceans@soton.ac.uk.
