So:Write

What's it all about?

SO:Write is a two-year, multi-strand literature development strategy and delivery programme based in the Southampton. The project aims to develop the profile, and showcase the talents of writers and writing in the area. Led by ArtfulScribe and a consortia of partners, SO:Write provides a wide range of activities for people from primary age to university graduates and early/mid-career writers. Through workshops, events and showcases, the project creates and signpost progressive pathways for writers from grassroots involvement to professional employment. SO:Write works with marginalised groups and a more general public, delivering opportunities to include high-profile residencies at key cultural institutions, showcase platforms for live literature, workshop facilitation training for writers to encourage sustainable development in the region and the establishment of a printing house to publish creative output and to create a lasting legacy for the city.
