Writing as Spiritual Practice returns with an invitation to dig deep, till the soil, and sow seeds for growth and harvest in the months ahead. Join a community of fellow beings on the field of language and literature to share thoughts, speech, and acts of writing, exploring above and below the ground of common experience.
This term’s focus will likely include writing by John O’Donohue, Marina Wiederkehr, Simone Weil, Wendell Berry, May Oliver, and others, alongside opportunities to write, reflect and chat about aspects of spirituality including Celtic, Benedictine, Indigenous, Christian, Yogic and Pagan perspectives.
We’ll also be looking at the nature of commitments, be these pledges, vows, or promises to the S/self as the spadework for personal development and growth, both upon and beyond the page, in the lead-up and through the period of Lent.
These sessions are suitable for anyone with thirsty for connection beyond the mundane and the trivial. You don’t have to think of yourself as a writer to take part - while there will be writing exercises and opportunities to share and discuss outcomes and processes, there is no obligation to publicise your thoughts and feelings.
