What Women Write

What's it all about?

Working in partnership with Southampton Forward, What Women Write offers free workshops celebrating women's voices across the city of Southampton to mark Jane Austen's 250th birthday.

Led by local women, the project explores diverse voices and experiences, with a focus on neurodivergence, motherhood and marginalisation, as well as wider perceptions and reflections from a more general public. The workshops are for anyone who identifies as a woman.

Session leads and assistants are: Susmita Bhattacharya and Cathryn Spiller; Lauren Alonso Miller and AJ Hardingson; Susan L. Edser and Lorna Digweed.

This project is supported by Southampton Forward, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Foyle Foundation as part of Jane Austen 250.
