Susan L. Edser is a graduate of Bournemouth University with an MA in Creative Writing and Publishing. She was awarded the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Prize for her academic ability, creative writing, and personal achievements.
A queer writer, Susan loves revealing hidden narratives through short stories, memoirs and flash fiction. Jigsaw Pieces won her second place in the Oxford Flash Fiction Prize in Winter 2024. At university, she was also a scriptwriter and lead actor for Dream Team, a short film focusing on allyship, empathy and cultural understanding.
A qualified counsellor and gardener, Susan believes in the therapeutic power of nature. She loves combining this with her writing and is described as a ‘courageous writer’ who produces ‘deeply moving and impactful storytelling.’
Susan is working on her first novel, exploring neurodiversity, and is an assistant facilitator at MAST Mayflower Studios for Junior and Young Writers.
