Forest Arts Junior & Young Writers

Do you like creative writing?
Are you aged between 7-10 or 11-16?

As a Forest Arts Junior Writer, you will get the chance to attend workshops led by professional writers, and you might get to see your work published online, in print, or perform it on a stage before a live audience.

Workshops are run in partnership with the Solent’s literature development organisation ArtfulScribe, and facilitated by children’s author and 2025 New Forest Writer in Residence Yarrow Townsend. Sessions offer a safe, supportive environment, encouraging young writers to share work and to give and receive feedback in a respectful way that empowers all voices in the group. You'll meet like-minded people and have fun along the way.
