Casting Call: Anchor
We are looking for a non-binary or female voice actor, age 18-25, based in South West England, to read the parts of Lyn & Stephen in ‘Anchor’ by Eve Wright. Anchor is a poetic spoken word audio drama that explores the loss of a friend to addiction. Lyn, protagonist, is in the throws of her grief cycle and has to grapple with the internal, yet unwieldy voice of Stephen, her deceased friend, who is unintentionally haunting her. The script explores what it means to let go of someone you care about and begin to heal. The drama is set at the cliff edge of a non-descript coastal town that Lyn finds herself occupying each night to mourn.
The script is commissioned by Calling The Shots & The BBC as part of the New Creatives development programme and will be distributed via BBC Sounds early 2021.
Fee: A Day Rate of £150 recording at SoCo Music Project, Southampton.
Travel expenses and per diems for the day of recording also covered upon receipt.
Please submit an audio recording of you reading a poem / script excerpt, between 1-5 mins long to email@example.com
