ArtfulScribe and a-space arts present a series of ten weekly writing workshops at restored heritage venue, God's House Tower, led by poet and creative writing teacher Kathryn Bevis, drawing inspiration from artworks on display as well as found objects, personal experiences and the sea, land and sky.
Participants will learn how to collect raw material needed to write original poems through interaction with contemporary and traditional poetry to inspire and shape new responses. These sessions will also consider how a poem is made; its form, voice, images and soundscape.
Kathryn's a prize-winning poet with accolades including 1st Place in Poets and Players Competition 2019 (Judge: Kei Miller), 3rd Place in Welshpool Open Poetry Competition 2019 (Judge: Liz Berry) and runner up in the Outspoken Poetry Prize 2019 (Judges incl: Kate Tempest, Mona Arshi). Founder of 'The Writing School' and former Travel and Arts desk correspondent for Independent on Sunday and Radio 4's 'Woman's Hour', Kathryn has a BA and M.Phil from University of Oxford.
Each session is priced at £10 in advance or £15 on-the-door, and a 10% reduction is available if block-booking all sessions.
God's House Tower is an accessible venue with wheelchair access and a lift.
